Planning application for a cemetery at Priorstown House, Scribblestown
A planning application for a cemetery at Priorstown House, Scribblestown, was lodged with Fingal County Council last month. The application proposes changing the use of residential premises to cemetery, demolishing an existing outbuilding and creating a new caretaker’s living facilities. Alterations were proposed to an existing outbuilding to create a crematorium and the proposal includes a car park for 114 vehicles, overflow parking and seven parking spaces for staff. Permission for a cemetery with 3,840 plots on the same site was previously refused in 2010, partly on the grounds that the “development would be visually obtrusive and seriously injure the amenities of the area”.
